Learn from what came before to know what can come

…Jacqui and her experienced team provided us with invaluable cross-cultural education. Through an interactive and engaging discussion Jacqui helped us identified the gaps in our current communication approach and together we crafted a tailored new strategy.  The information was practical, country-specific and based on well-researched scientific studies... We are truly looking forward to continue learning from Jacqui and her team.

…we had two days of cultural training with Jacqui where we discussed conducting business in Singapore, Hong Kong and China. After our first day, I had a late evening conference call with a new Chinese vendor and a number of US colleagues…I was dumbfounded, I was witnessing the cultural clash I had been taught about that very day by Jacqui. Thank you, Jacqui for an illuminating and valuable training.

Speaking about your ability to run a multicultural meeting, I think its excellent that you use examples between different cultures. As a new immigrant to the U.S. that helps me a lot to understand the importance of building trust in any culture. You create a warm and fun environment, that helps me to feel comfortable to speak about everything with all the trust to you because you showed yourself interested to understand and give me the best tips…

…To help us prepare for our upcoming growth, Faeron created a leadership workshop, titled "A Growth Mindset at Direct Relief". The focus of the workshop was on continuing to build trust throughout the organization as we expand, exploring and understanding various leadership styles, and fostering an overall healthy, diverse workforce. Jacqui has a deep, genuine understanding of diversity and cultural differences, which sets her apart from others in her field. She is truly amazing!

I lead one of the brands that my Swiss-based company just acquired. I know how difficult it can be to work with people from different cultures. Our team works closely with Vietnamese, so I hired Faeron Communication to assist us to work effectively with our Vietnamese counterparts and customers. Jacqui Oliveira of Faeron Communication, delivered to our marketing team (a team of over 50 people) an excellent workshop titled, “Designing a Culture of Trust with Vietnamese.” I watched Jacqui address the teams’ questions and challenges by expertly weaving theory and application into her responses to provide excellent advice that they could expressly use in their jobs. The training received the highest praises (written and spoken) for her insights. Faeron Communication (and Jacqui!)  is now our go-to company for cultural insights and understanding!

Faeron offered a training on building trusted relationships with Chinese companies to the materials team at Patagonia…The training we had was awesome! We started with high level interactive conversations … breaking it down into some common themes like competence, integrity, and caring. I think it was eye opening for our team…It was one of the most engaging meetings we have ever had in our department and we hope to work with Faeron on more trainings in the future.

Jacqui delivered an excellent program to our multicultural staff. We wanted a program that would assist us to increase trust between our departments. I knew that with increased trust, our staff would be more apt to be creative and productive, and enjoy their jobs even more. To improve cross-cultural skills, you need to demonstrate openness, genuineness, and integrity. Multicultural skills are acquired over time, not overnight. Since most of us tend to avoid anything that is unfamiliar, it takes a true commitment to educate ourselves and broaden our "comfort zone." Building trust across cultures is Faeron’s forte, so we knew we had the perfect program, and we did. We learned practical skills that we are using with each other and with our multicultural membership. The education program Jacqui provided was the perfect investment in our staff.

Having both of you [Faeron China specialist and international business specialist] observe our dynamics as a group helped us see where we can improve was extremely helpful.

Digging into tangible tactics to approach and refine our strategy was extremely helpful.

Talking through specific examples and sharing world-examples was helpful in the workshop.

Real-life work examples, learning how to maintain business relationships, and what warnings to look for made this workshop exceptional.

[Participant in “Creating a Culture of Trust with Taiwanese Suppliers” program]

The ‘Tips and Tricks” component of the program was most helpful. We really learned how to build trust and we learned about Taiwanese values that drive trust behaviors.”

[Participant in “Creating a Culture of Trust with Taiwanese Suppliers” program]

Being able to receive feedback on our experiences and stories was most helpful! It was more than a ‘class.’

[Participant in “Creating a Culture of Trust with Chinese Suppliers” program]

The workshop was amazing. Even more was the reference manual. The notes are easy to read and apply to my work.

Loved how much you related to our industry. I felt like you knew our process and limitations – KEEP THAT UP!

[Participant in “Creating a Culture of Trust with Vietnamese” program]

This is the most useful presentation I’ve ever attended at [my company] – thank you!

[Participant in “Creating a Culture of Trust with Vietnamese” program]

From this program, I learned that I need to get to the point where I understand how people think about me. Do they trust me? I don’t know. I am acting in a way that I think is trustworthy, but do they know this? Do they see it as trust? I’m going to ask them [team members] what trust looks like to them. I learned so much today.

[Participant in “A Growth Mindset at XXX” program]

Integrity means something different in different departments. It is cool to learn that. I’d never thought abut these things until taking this class

[Participant in “A Growth Mindset at XXX” program]

We must work to trust each other. I want to teach this to [my] staff. I learned so much in this class.

The custom book* for Patagonia was excellent. I feel like we really had time to dive into specific scenarios. This has been the best training session to date.
